Jim and Tori Mullan's collection is the
result of over 20 years of collaboration. Many of their designs are
influenced by nature and the world around them. They enjoy combining natural
materials with found and recycled objects to give our designs a time-worn
yet renewed feeling.
"Our jewelry, as well as our mirrors,
boxes, and birds are made with recycled metals such as copper, brass and
steel. The metals are hand stamped with various patterns and then oxidized
to achieve an array of colors and finishes. Natural imperfections occur
during oxidation, which add to the individuality of each piece. Since our
designs are handmade with various metals, finishes, and antique findings, it
is rare that any two pieces will be identical."
"We have tried to capture the feeling of our past, present and future in
creating these pieces. The use of hearts and antique time-pieces reflects
our idea of the way time seems to shift and bend according to our emotions.
The open windows are dream windows; places to put your hopes and dreams to
help them come true. With our use of fossils and animals, we try to show the
importance of watching over our fragile Earth"
