The Door Harp
concept originated in Sweden but ours are made in the USA by Bob Murphy
of Moon Mountain Woods.
Designed to hang on the back of the door, the harp chimes from the motion of
opening and closing and welcomes guests into the home. Door Harps have been
a long time favorite at Craft Company No. 6. They make excellent gifts for
any occasion but are especially appropriate for housewarming and wedding
gifts.
We offer a variety of size Door Harps in two different versions; inlayed or
simple. The inlayed harps have a mountain scene made from a variety of
contrasting hardwoods inside a cherry frame. Our simple harps are available
with a maple or cherry frame and figured walnut in the center.
The
size of the harp is determined by the number of strings, each playing a
different note. The harps are
finished with clear coat semi-gloss lacquer spray. The acorn striker balls
are maple or walnut depending on availability. The nickel coated piano pins and piano strings can be adjusted with the (included)
tuning wrench. Maple plywood is used as backing to keep the harp stiff
and straight/flat. Each harp comes with a hang-tag description.
Please Note: The harps in the
images are representational. Wood grain and intensity of color varies which is
what makes them so special and unique.
